Durapower’s DP Pulse turns battery data into longer asset life, lower material demand and measurable carbon performance, helping electrification deliver on its environmental promise.
Verma Alok
Group CEO @ Durapower Group of Companies
Electrification can reduce transport emissions, but its environmental gains depend on batteries lasting as long as possible. Without clear visibility into battery health, subtle changes in temperature, voltage, or charging performance may go unnoticed until a battery fails or is permanently replaced.
Every early replacement carries an environmental cost. It creates additional demand for mined materials and battery manufacturing while adding to the growing volume of spent batteries. As electric fleets and energy-storage systems expand, the challenge is not simply to put more batteries into service, but to manage each one responsibly throughout its lifecycle.
Durapower created DP Pulse to make battery performance and environmental impact measurable throughout that lifecycle.
The digital platform continuously monitors changes in temperature, voltage, current and charge. When it detects an unusual pattern, it alerts operators before the problem develops into a breakdown or safety incident. This allows earlier servicing, reducing the risk of premature failure and replacement.
DP Pulse also shows how everyday decisions affect battery life. Overcharging or repeatedly stressing a battery can accelerate its decline. By identifying those patterns, the platform helps operators optimise charging strategies by balancing charging time and battery health, keeping batteries healthier for longer.
Extending battery life means extracting more value from the materials and emissions already invested in its production. It can also delay replacement and reduce the number of batteries entering the waste stream.
The same system records energy use and carbon performance, creating a history that follows the battery throughout its working life. This lifecycle record can support decisions on whether to repair, refurbish, reuse in a second-life application, or recycle a battery. It also gives fleet operators clearer evidence of the carbon performance of their electrification efforts.
According to Durapower, predictive monitoring has reduced unexpected breakdowns by approximately 20 to 28 per cent, while fleet uptime has increased to between 98.5 and 99.2 per cent.
DP Pulse already monitors fleets in China, Singapore and Europe across five deployments spanning logistics, infrastructure, public transport and construction. According to operational figures supplied by Durapower, predictive monitoring has reduced unexpected breakdowns by approximately 20 to 28 per cent. Fleet uptime has risen from around 94 to 95 per cent to between 98.5 and 99.2 per cent, while unplanned downtime has fallen by 22 to 30 per cent.
These operational improvements also have an environmental dimension. Keeping batteries and vehicles working for longer helps avoid premature replacement, reduces pressure on raw materials and preserves more of the climate value already invested in electrification.
Durapower’s supporting evidence states that DP Pulse detects approximately 18 to 25 critical warnings for every 1,000 batteries monitored each month. Early intervention has reduced the estimated risk of safety incidents by around 30 per cent.
The company also reports that closer monitoring and better charging have slowed annual battery degradation by approximately 8 to 12 per cent. Depending on how a battery is used, this is estimated to extend its working life by six to 12 months, delaying replacement and drawing more value from materials already in circulation.
DP Pulse forms part of Durapower’s broader approach to responsible electrification. The company reports that its deployed electrification solutions have collectively reduced carbon emissions by more than 55 million kilograms across 26 countries and 70 cities. By adding lifecycle monitoring, carbon tracking and predictive intelligence, DP Pulse is designed to safeguard and extend that wider environmental impact.
Durapower plans to expand DP Pulse across more electric fleets and stationary energy-storage projects while strengthening its predictive and carbon-accounting capabilities.
Future versions will connect with emerging battery passport systems, preserving information as batteries move from first use to refurbishment, second-life applications, or recycling.
The ambition is to create a traceable, circular battery ecosystem in which performance, environmental impact and end-of-life decisions remain visible. The success of electrification will be measured not only by how many batteries enter service, but by how responsibly, and for how long, each one is used before it leaves.
Headquartered in Singapore, Durapower offers Integrated Energy Solutions, across Commercial Vehicles, Port & Marine and Energy Storage. Since 2009, Durapower develops and manufactures NMC, LMFP, LTO cells and design energy systems around the three verticals and integrate the same with AI based BMS and DP Pusle. With a global presence spanning 25 countries and 70 cities, including European countries, USA, China, Australia, South Korea, India and Southeast Asia, Durapower strives to make scalable, sustainable batteries that support the circular economy, empowering lives and transforming our collective future towards a carbon-neutral economy. While Durapower does not manufacture, sell or distribute batteries intended for use in relation to household or consumer electronics, it continues to push technological boundaries and innovation in industrial storage and energy solutions for a sustainable future.
