AMALGAMATA: POST-PESTO is a minimal waste couture collection that revolves around the idea that life is formed in death, exploring the symbiosis between the two states and the liminal space in between, at a microscopic level—through the eyes of a jar of mouldy pesto.

The collection draws from biomimicry, referencing bacterial growth patterns, organic shapes and silhouettes inspired by cellular structure, and layered protrusions that feel alive. Sustainability, storytelling, and sophistication are key to the collection, captured through sustainable construction techniques, symbolic material choices, structural details and silhouettes.

Sustainable methods such as patchworking, jigsaw puzzle cutting, and experimental patternmaking were employed throughout the making process, minimising textile waste and ensuring an almost circular system of production. Each fragment of fabric becomes part of a larger organism, reinforcing the concept that nothing truly dies but instead transforms.
