KUCHING, Malaysia, Aug. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Sarawak's approach to creating lasting impact through business events has once again earned international recognition, with the destination named Best Sustainability Initiative (Destination) at the Meetings & Conventions Asia Stella Awards 2026. The win marks Sarawak's second in the category, after 2024, reinforcing legacy impact as an important part of its approach to sustainable destination development.
The win was driven by Sarawak's legacy impact approach, which demonstrates how business events can be intentionally designed to create meaningful long-term outcomes beyond the event itself. By focusing on economic development, social progress, and environmental responsibility, the approach connects business events with Sarawak's Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
This year's recognition carries added significance as the award was determined through public nominations and voting. Public support for Sarawak reflects the growing relevance of legacy impact beyond the business events industry, showing that the value of creating meaningful, lasting outcomes is resonating with the wider community.
"Winning this award for the second time demonstrates the importance of sustainability and legacy to Sarawak's business events strategy and wider development," said The Honourable Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak. "Sustainability must go beyond the environment to include social and economic progress, while legacy ensures that the value created through business events can continue long after an event has ended."
Since its first M&C Asia Stella Award victory in 2024, Sarawak has continued to advance its legacy agenda through programmes and platforms focused on education, measurement and industry participation. The focus is increasingly on embedding legacy throughout the event journey and strengthening the industry's ability to translate intent into meaningful outcomes.
"This recognition reflects the collective effort behind Sarawak's legacy journey," said Datu Hii Chang Kee, Deputy State Secretary (Operation) and Chairman of BESarawak. "What began with advocacy is gaining greater participation across the industry. Legacy is ultimately about shaping the future together, with government, industry, organisers and communities each playing a role in creating shared and meaningful outcomes."
"This award signals that legacy impact is gaining greater relevance, not only for Sarawak but across the Asia Pacific business events industry," said Jason Tan Chin Foo, Chief Executive Officer of BESarawak. "Our next phase is to drive greater adoption across the ecosystem, ensuring that legacy outcomes are consistently planned, measured and demonstrated, while strengthening the industry's capability to deliver them. That is how we turn recognition into lasting value for Sarawak."
The M&C Asia Best Sustainability Initiative (Destination) Award 2026 marks another milestone in Sarawak's legacy journey, strengthening its commitment to advancing legacy impact as a driver of sustainable destination development.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Aug. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Tailored Floral, a Malaysian luxury floral gifting house founded by Kelly Chang and Meg Cheong, introduces the Muhibbah Collection: a limited-edition Merdeka floral series created to honour the values behind Malaysia's national story — Harmoni, Harapan and Hebat / Greatness.
The name muhibbah, long associated with goodwill and togetherness, anchors a collection designed to do more than mark a moment. It is a celebration of national pride: the belief that Malaysia's diversity is not merely something to display during Merdeka, but a strength to practise every day. Each arrangement carries a value that Malaysians recognise, share and aspire to live.
The Collection
Three Bouquets. One Malaysia.
The Muhibbah Collection comprises three distinct arrangements. Their names are intentionally matched to the colours in the launch image and the story each bouquet is designed to carry.
- Harmoni / Harmony • Red
The red arrangement honours unity in diversity — the willingness to listen, respect one another and make room for every community in Malaysia's story. - Hebat / Greatness • Blue
The blue arrangement represents Hebat / Greatness — shared capability, confidence, aspiration and the belief that Malaysia rises highest when people grow together. - Harapan / Hope • Yellow
The yellow arrangement is a warm expression of optimism and resilience — a gift for families, teams and friends who believe a brighter tomorrow can be built together.

Meaning Beyond the Bouquet
A Bouquet That Helps Plant Hope
The Muhibbah Collection is more than a gift. Through TQ Rise Up, underprivileged youth build the confidence to communicate, work with others and enter the workplace more prepared. The initiative's mission is clear: help 100 underprivileged youth rise through practical people skills and the support of a wider Malaysian community.

Together, these accomplishments highlight NagaCorp's dedication to advancing its SCSR goals and delivering tangible, sustained value for employees, communities, and the environment.
Key SCSR achievements driving this year's higher certification score and demonstrating continued progress include:

Since 2014, more than 32,000 saplings have been planted, while 62,500 tree seedlings were distributed in 2026 alone.
- Empowering Employees, Creating Community Impact — The Impact Initiator Programme inspires employees to lead community initiatives spanning education, student welfare, school infrastructure, and sustainability, from digital literacy and enrichment programmes to school materials, improved learning environments, and community vegetable gardens, turning employee-led ideas into tangible impact while building leadership capabilities.
- Holistic Employee Well-being and Engagement — Employee welfare is supported through fitness, wellness, and community events, including growing participation in the Women Run 10K and Phnom Penh International Half Marathon, as well as the Company-hosted NagaRun and Earth Hour 5K Fun Run. The expansion of NagaMart, alongside live cooking demonstrations promoting healthy eating, further supports employees' everyday well-being.
- Fostering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion — The Company is committed to a vibrant, inclusive workplace underpinned by equal opportunity and fair treatment, actively nurturing local talent and advancing women's leadership. Women represent 49.9% of the total workforce and 33% of managerial positions, reflecting continued progress towards a balanced and inclusive organisation.
